The Oldest and Oldest Son worked hard this weekend to complete their science fair projects.

Two cups will also be displayed containing what was left after evaporating saltwater and the water that was desalted.

The scale that goes underneath the wind tunnel isn't in this picture, but there will be one for the science fair display.

With the snow gone (again) and above normal temps in the 60's, who can resist spending the day outside?

Hmmm ... Wonder where those dirty feet came from? ;)

After all the snow had just about melted, we got hit by another snowstorm yesterday. This morning Middle Child went outside to shoot some hoops. His play was cut short when he made his first basket and the ball didn't come out of the hoop because the wet was frozen with an opening too small for the ball to pass through!

Today is Hubby's birthday. He decided to grill steak for his birthday supper ... yes, in February! And it was worth it! SO GOOD! I also made a potato recipe for supper that I got off Pinterest (the first recipe I've made off that site), and they were a hit, too! Delicious! I'll definitely be making them again!
"G" is the letter for this week's photo challenge over at ABC Wednesday. (I know it's not Wednesday yet, but you can post these as early as Tuesday.)

The Youngest had an adult tooth coming in before the baby tooth in that spot came out. After a trip to the dentist today, we learned the root of the baby tooth wasn't dissolving like it is supposed to, so he had to have it pulled. He was a real trooper and is now sporting a new grin!

The Youngest even asked if he would get more money for his tooth since the root was still attached!

For her science fair project, the Oldest decided to desalinate salt water through evaporation. She used a lamp and griddle (on very low) to heat the salt water in the bowl which collected on plastic wrap held down in the middle with a marble so the now-salt-free water would drip into the ceramic mug in the middle of the bowl.

For Oldest Son's science fair project, he made different shaped wings out of styrofoam and attached the wings in the wind tunnel to the scale underneath the wind tunnel to test and determine which of the four differently shaped wings provided the most lift.

Every day one of the students in the Youngest's class gets to take home a bag about a fictional character. Their choices are Dr. Seuss, Arthur, Winnie the Pooh, or Curious George. Each of the bags contains a stuffed version of the character of choice, a book about the character, a game or puzzle about the character or topic, and a shaped blank paper booklet in which the students get to write their own story about the character. The teacher changes the books and games so that if a student chooses the same character bag more than onces, the items inside are different.
Today was the Youngest's turn to bring home the character bag. He chose Curious George.

Here he is with Curious George and the book he wrote.
